A place to consider in Butuan City is the natural and unique Kayam Forest in Brgy. Pagatpatan. Believed to be rich in deposited natural gas and minerals along the riverine part of the lower Agusan River. Unique forest throughout the country since this is, I think, the only place I know that the area is primarily dominated by Kayam Tree. The mature fruit upon cooking is edible(Rich in fiber) and sold to the local market of Butuan, which mark as one of the delicacies of the Butuanon Tribe. Known also as unique habitat to many flora and fauna.

Tagnote Falls - RTR, Agusan Del Norte

Maybe one of the best places you can visit here in Agusan Del Norte's province under the municipality of RTR. This is Tagnote Falls under the footmark of Mt. Hilong-Hilong (the highest peak in Caraga). Simple place with local snacks and foods available at the corner. You can enjoy the forest scenery while swimming at the medium size pool. Visit this place just 30 to 40 minutes from Butuan City, highway road going to Surigao City. Just drop by at the Municipality of RTR and ride a single motor available going to Tagnote Falls. The entrance fee ranges from 30 to 50 pesos.
